Every production brief is different along with the locations and creative challenges that drive it. We thrive on challenges and are committed to providing experienced crews and flexible solutions. Our aim is to provide the best of everything for the project in order to make a truly special commercial campaign.

COST ESTIMATES
To get current costs for shooting in Iceland, please contact us if you have a project in mind. We will be happy to forward you guidelines and prices based on your layouts and the kind of locations you are after. Foreigners do get a 20% refund of their production on expense on films and TV from the Icelandic Government.
LOCATION SCOUTS & PERMITS
FilmIceland works with experienced and competent location scouts to find and photograph specific locations. All scouts work on digital format making sending information fast and accessible. We are experienced at negotiating appropriate fees with both private and public location owners and we ensure that the proper permits for locations are obtained.
CASTING
FilmIceland works with a number of experienced casting agents in Iceland. The pool of acting talent available includes experienced professional drama actors, models and extras, represented by actors' or models' agents.
CREW
Icelandic crews are renowned for their hardworking, versatile edge and their focus on using evolving technology. Local, professional crews are mobile and very experienced with working on location.
In Iceland a 12 hour shoot day is the standard for commercials.
Overtime is charged at a rate of T 1.65. The Law requires that crew get a minimum of 11 hr rest.
There are no additional charges for night shoots or weekend work if treated as a normal shooting day. Public holiday rates may be payable.
ACCOMMODATION
Iceland offers a wide range of accommodation to fit your requirements: Motels, Boutique Hotels, Country Stays and 5 Star Hotels are available to make you feel at home while on location.
FREIGHT & CUSTOMS
We have experienced custom / freight agents that work with us to handle temporary permits for importing, carnet’s for camera or film equipment, special props and products. Please contact Film Iceland for assistance with all customs and freight matters. Our agents will assist with customs clearances as well as advising on the most efficient freight options for your project.
FILM EQUIPMENT & STOCK
There is an extensive range of film and video equipment available in Iceland. If in need for anything we can´t supply here, we are always able to provide it through our rental houses in the UK or Denmark.
Eastman Kodak and Fuji Film stock is available in Iceland
PROCESSING - MOTION PICTURE
There are no motion picture laboratories based in Iceland. Rushes can be couried overnight to the UK or Denmark. |
